Gaston College holds second annual Rhinos Classic fundraiser golf tournament
Despite some rain drops, 17 teams competed on a fall days with temperatures in the 60s at Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club in Denver on Wednesday.
The four-player team of Bob Clay, Eric Clay, Chad Ghorley and Jarrod Gibson were the winning foursome with a collective score of 15-under-par in the captain's choice event.
Finishing second was the team of Marshall Eubanks, Randy Lawrence, Travis Prevatte and Gaston College assistant softball coach Lani Ries.
Finishing third was the team of Chris Dobbins, Derek Dobbins, Dean Estramante and Jim Estramante.
Superlative winners were Dale Lutz for closest-to-the-pin on No. 2, Eric Clay for closest-to-the-pin for men on No. 8, Robin Hauser for closest-to-the-pin for women on No. 8, Michael Loria for longest drive on No. 6 and Robin Hauser for longest drive for women on N. 16.
Gaston College president Dr. John Hauser and Rhinos baseball head coach and athletic director Shohn Doty helped honor the winners with memorabilia and prizes after the event.
