Gaston College second baseman gets Rawlings Gold Glove award

The awards keep coming for Gaston College's school-best softball team.

On Wednesday, second baseman Alayna Patrick was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) with the national 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

Patrick, last week named second team All-Region by the NFCA with teammate Grace Kealy, recently helped the Rhinos finish 63-5 overall with a fourth place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series.

Patrick had a 420 batting average with 39 extra base hits (27 doubles) and 86 RBIs in addition to having a .974 fielding percentage in 191 chances with only five errors while turning 10 double plays.

It's the second time Gaston College's softball team has been honored with a Gold Glove winner; Brantleigh Parrott was a Gold Glove Award winner as a pitcher in 2023.
