Gaston College freshman softball pitcher named All-American

Gaston College's championship-winning softball season continued on Tuesday afternoon when the National Junior College Athletic Association named freshman pitcher Aidan Ledbetter a second team All-American pitcher.

Ledbetter is a 2025 Crest High graduate where she was an all-state selection and four-time Big South Conference pitcher of the year.

In leading Gaston College to a 62-6 overall record, 12th-place NJCAA World Series finish and Region 10 and Mid-Atlantic District titles, Ledbetter had a 24-2 record with two saves and 1.34 ERA in 32 appearances (23 starts) with 201 strikeouts in 161 2/3 innings.

The 2026 Region 10 pitcher of the year, Ledbetter becomes the seventh All-American in coach Michael Steuerwald's five-year-old program's history.

Previous Gaston College All-Americans were Brantleigh Parrott in 2023 and Sarah Johnson, Kendall Bradshaw, Kristyn Ezzo, Alayna Patrick and Grace Kealy in 2025.
