Gaston College softball honored for academic excellence by National Fastpitch Coaches Association

Gaston College's 2025-26 softball team was successful on the field and in the classroom.

Not only did the Rhinos advance to their third National Junior College Athletic Association World Series in four years - and second straight 60-win season - they also earned 15 All-American academic honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Gaston College sophomores Sophia Barone, Mary Hinson, McKenna Jones, Addison Marr and Kara Thomas and freshmen Alexa Bianchi-Rossi, Meredith Bolick, Adah Bruining, Mallie Courson, Sophia Crist, Jamie Hearn, Aidan Ledbetter, Miranda Wall, Emery Skinner and Laila Woolfolk were honored by the NFCA.

To earn All-American recognition, student-athletes had to earn a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 2025-26 school year.
